Brethren, Spring will soon be upon us and things will begin to grow again. Freemasonry is about growth. As we advance through the degrees our knowledge, commitment, duty, and obligations to our order grow. The more we come together as Brothers the fondness and fellowship between us grows. And with each new man to knock upon our door our lodge grows. Every meeting we have had this year has been accompanied with more Brothers on the sideline than I can remember and the spirit of Brotherly love and friendship is growing more than ever. This is what Freemasonry is about. The special things that grow need extra special nurturing. Our newest Brothers need the light from their lodge in order to blossom and it will be my policy this year not to advance any Brother unless he comes to some meetings after his degree. This not only helps the Brother learn the ritual but grows the bond that is necessary for a strong foundation of Brotherhood. Just like concrete in a building the cement of Brotherly love needs time to cure to be as strong as possible. So if you are an Entered Apprentice or Fellow Craft looking to progress to the next degree I can’t wait to see your face among the Brothers on the sideline. On our calendar the Stated Communication March 4th will be a regular business meeting but I have something planned for that night that will be real fun for the Brothers who come and I hope that as many as you can will be there. At our last meeting I announced that I want to change our Bylaws to return the second meeting of the month to a Stated Communication. According to those same Bylaws this must be sent in writing to the Brethren 30 days prior to a vote on such a matter so this is your notice. Our second meeting in March, the 18th, the day after St. Patrick’s Day we will have a celebration and perhaps a return of the commemorative T-Shirt of that celebration. There is much work to be done, W.B. Matthew M. Morris |
